For example, you can change the title of your page to target a specific set of keywords that have a low amount of competing sites. You can strategically place keywords within the text of your website that cause the web crawlers to consider your site as relevant for people that search for the keyword you are targeting.

Off-page SEO refers to the process of getting links back to your site from other sites that the search engines consider relevant for your keywords. If site that is considered an authority on a certain keyword by Google links to your site, for example, it will give your site credibility and cause your ranking to improve. While you can tweak your site occasionally, off-page SEO is a continuous process.
